Contradiction right there.
I'm a huge fan of the series, shit, I even hummed loudly whenever people mentioned the whole repetitiveness of the game. I didn't give a fuck, I enjoyed the gameplay, the story was not brilliant, but better than good and it looked as pretty as nothing I did see.
