Seems to me that they just want to live their lives without anyone trying to kill them. Perhaps you should go and visit Israel; you may be surprised to see that it's the only country in the Middle East where Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druse, Bahá'Ã* and people of many other faiths live together and practice their religions freely.

Not entirely true. I've met representatives of all three religions who are wonderful, peace-loving people. And I've met representatives of all three religions who are absolute xenophobic bastards. The lesson here is that people can be dicks irrespective of which religion they follow.
