For one I think terrorism got an entirely different definition after 9/11. There's a difference between rebels and 'freedom fighters' who fight for a real cause (free my people, give us money, change the rules, whatever) and religious idiots who want to kill everyone that doesn't agree with their derailed train of thoughts.
I'm speaking specifically about religious extremists here. I don't see christians blowing themselves up in the Middle-East. Islam is the only religion that has a high number of terrorists in it. Christianity has extremists, sure. But they don't kill people on such a grand scale as the Islamic ones do.
Also on a side not I don't think there is a single terrorist organisation out there that killed more people in total than Islamic terrorists did. And Nazi's don't count.
