Has Anyone actually said that there is a new Oddworld game coming out.

Actually, the term that's been used is "projects". No one at OWI or JAW has explicitly said "new game". Stewart Gilray has said they're working on "games" and hinted at the size, 2D/3Dness and release platforms of them, and from context they're definitely Oddworld games, and he's never
denied they're new games... but still.

What could it possible hurt to let us devoted fans know what is going on?

Like they let us know they were working on
Hand of Odd? And
Fangus? And
Citizen Siege? Like they let us know all about the revolutionary gameplay and complex story of
Munch's Oddysee? Lorne has learnt numerous times what it can hurt to let us devoted fans know what's going on too early.

I am aware that JAW is now involved and that they are a game developing company, but if they have been talking to lorne lanning for over a year now, why would he declare in late April of this year that no games are planned?

JAW initially started that year of working with OWI by helping them find things in their extensive archives. New projects may only have become a certainty after April.
