Spider was barely conscious. He could hear the remaining solders discussing what they should do now...
"What now?" he heard one say.
"I don't know..go home?" another said.
"If Spider is still alive I'd say we finish him off! And avenge Cyrus!"
There was a chorus of agreement and Spider suddenly felt himself being dragged. He weakly opened his eyes and saw the solder's surround him.
Frag...I'm too weak ter prevent this. he thought.
//Search thy heart and soul and thee will find the strength thou needs\\ he heard the voice say.
Not having any other option, Spider closed his eyes and concentrated. It hit him almost immediately and he opened his eyes again in shock.
//Do thou feel it?\\
"Yes..." Spider muttered.
//Then harness and use it. It is time for thy awakening! Show these scum what real power is Spider. Release the dragon within!\\
Spider felt a surge of strength and he stood up. The solders stepped back in shock; they didn’t think he still had the strength even prop up on one arm. He could still feel the pain of his injuries but he was able to ignore it. He snarled at the solders, bearing his teeth, then closed his eyes again and he felt something new. It was like a mild electric shock and it was building in intensity. He knew what it was and he encouraged it to continue building….

“Lets pump him full of lead!” one of the soldiers cried and they all cocked their guns and aimed.
Suddenly Spider opened his eyes again, and the soldiers were surprised to see that Spider’s eyes were no longer yellow…but silver. The watched in shocked amazement as Spider reared up, somehow balancing on just his tail. He stayed like that for a few seconds become slamming his hands back onto the ground with a howl. As soon as his hands hit the ground, a ring of lightning shot out from them, and rapidly expanded outward. The soldiers were all instantly electrocuted and fell to the ground, dead.

Spider groaned and his eyes reverted back to their normal color. He weakly walked over to the cliff and looked down. He saw Corrack’s body, but not Cyrus’.
“I hope yer drowned yer bastard…” Spider grumbled as he turned away from the cliff. He walked a little ways but then collapsed, the pain over taking him again. He tried to get up again but couldn’t.
Frag…I’m too weak…how am I goin’ ter get back ter the village… he thought grimly.
//Thee will walk there of course.\\ he heard the voice say.
“How? I can even stand anymore…”
It was then that she appeared, for the first time, before him. Her body was silver, long and snake-like, impossible to tell the length due the bodies constant motion. Only two arms protruded from her body, each ending with a four-fingered hand tipped with ivory talons. The head was draconic with two cat fish-like whiskers protruding from the tip of the snout. A mane of white hair adored her head and the hair continued down her back to the tip of the tail, which ended in a tuff. Her eyes were also white and her expression was one of kindness and her body just floated just above the ground.
“Wh…who are yer….” Spider asked mouth open in shock.
//I am one of the dragon gods Spider. I am known as the Goddess of the Thundering Moon.\\
“Why would a god help me? I never believed in them before…”
//As one of the creators of the dragons, I see thee as one of my kin, one of my children. Even though thou are not of full blood. As dragons take care of their own. That and thee needed guidance to discover thy’s true potential and purpose.\\
Spider lowered his head, now humbled by the Goddess’ presence; he did not know what to say. He then felt a warm feeling envelope him and his body lift off the ground. He let out a short startled whine, then closed his eyes and relaxed. He felt at peace like this and he felt no pain. After a moment he felt himself being returned to the ground. He opened his eyes and was shocked to find out that he was now completely healed. He noticed something else too; on his chest was a silver tattoo of a dragon in flight, shooting a bolt of lightning.
“What’s this fer?” Spider asked, pointing to the tattoo.
//That is so that all that know of me will know that thee are one of my kin, and to treat thee with the respect thy deserve.\\
“Thank yer…I don’ know what ter say…”
//Thee are welcome. I must leave thee now. Thou will be on thy own from now on. Just so thee know…there is a friend of one of thy kin in the village. Thou may want to seek him out.\\
“I will. Thank yer again Goddess fer yer help.”
//Take care my kin, and always remember what thee hath learned. Fare thee well.\\
The Goddess then disappeared in a brilliant flash of silver-blue light, leaving Spider alone.
Spider then went to reclaim his pants and headed back to the village….
