My dad used to tell us off for swearing, even though he was a regular swearer himself.

I recently asked my sister how she's going to deal with it when her daughter (13 months) starts swearing. She said that they wouldn't make a big deal out of it, because banning swearing makes it that much more attractive. I suggested that as a family we all start using the new swearword 'Flurgle' and have my sister and her husband get upset whenever we use it, so that my niece ends up learning that ridiculousness instead of anything more socially unacceptible.
