Fuck Goku, I watched it for Krillin. He never stopped being cool, and was probably one of the only characters that continued to develop as the series progressed.
Also the diversity in villains was always so awesome.

My favourite arc was actually the Garlic Jr filler arc, because Gohan, Piccolo and Krillin actually got to do legitimately cool shit.
