Eh. Shonen to me means 'Coming of age adventure' so whilst the first series is VERY shonen, the second series is more of a clusterfuck of gradually more stupid threats to the earth with the development of Gohan as a character the only realy shonen aspect. Then that stopped when he hit puberty and got his Z sword and so did any reason I had to watch the show.
