Shame the ending was changed so Communism was seen as more of an evil that destroyed itself and was escaped from by bright and sympathetic people rather than a corruption in the Communist system making it almost indistinquishable from the Capitalist oppression that came beforehand.

I read the book too.... But the cartoon was just so... Different from what I was used to then.
Ever watched a movie, that really isn't supposed to be scary or anything, but it leaves you with disgust for many days?
There was another movie that made me feel like that. About a girl who had moved to a new town, got some bad friends, one of whom was a crazy psycho-girl who ended up killing the main-girl by intruding in her home, tying her up and cutting her throat. Every time I think of that movie I just wanna.. Blegh.
