There used to be a fancorner rule that said you couldn't post fangame threads unless you were able to make the fangame yourself, but it seems to have been lost in one of the many revisions of the rules over the last couple of years.

So while I admire your ambition, if you're not able to make this game yourself then there's no point asking other people to do it. We all have great ideas for games that could be but the idea you're suggesting... Well, an MMORPG would be very difficult to program. I think you would need a team of professional game-makers, which OWF doesn't really have. Also, it would require a lot of online server space, which would be very expensive.

So first, I don't think anyone with the skills to make such a thing would spend their time making a free, unofficial game, when they probably have a job of their own which they could actually earn money from doing.

Second, I don't think any member of Oddworld Forums would pay for the server, which would not be a one-off payment; it would be repeated payments every month or year and as I said, it wouldn't be cheap.
Also, if you decided to sell advertising or subscriptions to make money from the game to pay for the server, you would be breaking Oddworld Inhabitants' copyright and therefore would be breaking the law.

I think if you want an Oddworld MMORPG, you're going to have to wait for OI to make one themselves.
