If there's no Oddworld film or continuation of the Quintology, doesn't that defeat the purpose of Oddworld Inhabitants/Oddmobb in the first place?

Not necessarily. Remember that Citizen Siege was on the project roster, and more than likely a few other projects we don't even know about yet. Just because they're called the "OddMobb" doesn't mean they're going to be making more Oddworld media. In fact, the name "Oddmobb" distances itself from Oddworld by it's lack of specificity. By being called Oddmobb and not Oddworld Inhabitants, they can get away with still being odd without making Oddworld.
