Newspaper article today said that the Russians aren't denying that they're spies, but they're claiming that they're the nice sort of spies and the American are paranoid if they think the Russians would want to spy on them.

The Russian Foreign Ministry effectively admitted that the accused were Kremlin agents but argued they had never acted against US interests. ''We are counting on the American side to display the appropriate understanding in this matter, including taking into account the positive character of the current Russian-American relations,'' the ministry said.

Also, apparently they forged British and Irish passports. Amazing how quiet those governments are when a country other than Israel does that.
