No, it doesn't.
Just use a similar-sized, single-frame sprite and replace it when a walking animation becomes available to you.
I have started helping a fair few fangames with their sprite department and it takes up a lot of my time. None of these games even reached a satisfying beta release. How can anyone be sure that this project will get even close to that far?
I will consider helping you with not only walking, but
all your sprites when, and only when, you can prove you'll take this project somewhere.
Try completing and releasing the game engine. That's always very impressive and is likely to get people on board with your project.
Sorry if the above seems to be in a harsh tone but, however tempting it may be, collecting sprites and building the game around them rather than building the game
then implementing sprites is a mistake that far too many people make.
