I've always assumed that there was far more than one queen per species. There must be dozens in order to keep the species going, although OWI have said that there is only one Slig Queen, but I interpreted that as only one Queen that the Cartel know of; I'll bet there are others in hiding.
I know I'm not alone in thinking that there is more than one Mudokon Queen, because others have speculated on where the Native Muds come from, so they must come from at least one other Queen.
The individual Glukkons look far too different for them all to have come from the same Queen IMO. Although we know that Margaret is the absolute ruler of the Magog Cartel; which probably implies that all the Magogian Glukkons are her offspring, but it may just be that Margaret's children get priority when Cartel job positions are being issued.

We also know that the Vykkers have no Queen; they are all fertile hermaphrodites. We don't know how all the other species reproduce though.

As for drones or reproductive males, I never gave it any thought. Interesting ideas, though.
