Gold flutes sound richer, and silver flutes sound more solid.

Gold=jazz and silver=classical, basically. Many people will try to tell you what's best, but it comes down to preference and what you're playing.

I'd preferably have 3 flutes. This, A Verne Q Powell with 0.43mm thick walls and <92% silver, and a gold flute for jazz.
