Problem with that method is that these viruses often register DLL files and plant them in the windows\system32 folder, along with numerous other keys which are all ways that the virus can 'replicate' itself.

Well, the trojan "CiD" is a little application that opens advertisements while using Internet, it was contained in a folder with other two files if memory serves me right; maybe crashpunk's problem is worse than mine... I don't know! All I know is that I've got that problem (and so that trojan) no more!
