I've never been a Tarantino fan. I watched Pulp Fiction and my only reaction was "What was the big deal about that?". I haven't seen any of his other films.
But I fucking loved Inglorius Basterds. Maybe it's just the Jew revenge fantasy in me, but I thought it was brilliant.

the fact that when someone called him on the fact that there is another movie of THE SAME FUCKING NAME and a very similar, albeit less graphic plot, he denied ANY fucking connection.

I'm not sure how true that is; I've heard him interviewed about that film. He's vague about why he chose that name, yes, but he didn't deny that there was a connection.
