Eggnog is an acquired taste. You can get it in cartons or make it yourself, I suggest the latter, as the former is gross and will give you a very poor impression of what good eggnog is really like. It's pretty much milk, cream, sugar, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg mixed with either brandy or rum. I think I'm actually allergic to nutmeg, as I get feverish and nauseous every time I drink too much (omitting the possibility it's just the booze or the raw eggs).

Oh, phew. I thought you were talking about the
liquid candy that is standard eggnog. I agree with you about trying to make (or at least
mix) it yourself.
