If we can consider post-DotT/Monkey Island point&click games non-mainstream, I'd also mention Woodruff & the Schnibble of Azimuth and The Neverhood. I don't think they are widely known, but they were entertaining. I guess the necessity to go through an insanely long corridor just to pick up a cassette at the end, then go back is reason enough for someone to steer clear of The Neverhood. That's probably the only frustrating part of the game though.
I would say that the end of the Golden Age of Adventure Games was Grim Fandango. Anything after that can probably cound as 'non-mainstream'.

As for The Neverhood; I really, really want to play that but it's not available on any of the online distribution places.


Currently caning the shit out of Eufloria's Dark Matter Mode. Also occassionally playing Audiosurf.
