I always figured there was some Glukkon loser sat being an operator on those fones. Thinking about it now, that's probably not all that feasible. But it would explain why the fones always sound so bad-tempered.

Why isn't it feasible? There are Glukkons at all levels of society. Let's not forget Gas Station Attendant Glukkon after all.
