What about giving her a real fishing rod :P
I always wanted one..

As a kid, I also only played with monsters and boy'ish toys.
I mostly liked creatures rather than humans though. But I had a few spider-man toys cos they had cool features Like sliding from one spot to another with his "web".
If your daughter likes features, like I did, then give her something that's interesting and explorable.
At that age I was also fascinated with lifesized things. I remember for either my birthday or christmas, I chose this giant rabbit-puppet that I still have. I liked being able to interact with things my size. I could even dance with them.

Meh... But I'd always go for explorable things. Or maybe some toys that make cool "art". Stimulate your child's creativity =)

Edit: The Yoshi thing is super-cute.
