Basically, the reasoning is the 'artists rights', 'creative property'; the right to distribute something belongs with the author, and so it's the creators choice to have something reproduced. I'm thinking right now of Sl'Askia asking AlexFili to take down fanart based on her stories; it's her stuff and up to her if it gets shown. Just an example and perhaps not relevant, but yeah, I think you should ask the author before posting this. His website details is just visible there if you want to try and decode it.
