Tok didn't even notice Ackro leave. He'd spotted the native. He was with another mudokon, a few Sligs - the ones he'd met before - and some paramites. Why hadn't these Sligs shot the native already? Never mind. It was his factory, so he would defend it. He raised his blunderbuss and aimed it at the native's head. Steady... he was moving... pull the trigger...
And at that moment a paramite hit him in the back and he went sprawling out into the midst of them all.
