I went to an ultraorthodox, fundamentalist Jewish school for the first nine years of education. My family isn't ultraorthodox or fundamentalist but it was the only Jewish school with a bus going to it from our house.
Then I escaped for the next four years to an elite government school that pretended it was a private school. Exam to get in, only the top 20-25% were accepted, classy uniforms, massed singing, all that jazz.
