I believe there was quite a lot of marketing hype behind games like Mario, Zelda, Resident evil games, Crash bandicoot, Sonic,etc,etc.... the last I checked those games did pretty well,did'nt they???
Bottomline is there have been many games that "have" come through with a ton of hype before there release. And yes there have been a few underachievers, that's a no brainer.
Yes and Black and White is a game that has lived up to the hype .
By the way no one has mentioned Jaxter and Dax or Maximo,Draken 2, and Shadowman -second coming, for the PS2. Those are two fine games with alot to offer coming on the PS2.
Like I've said before playing GT3 and ICO on PS2 along with Munch and Halo on XBOX and Mario and Zelda on Gamecube,just a few examples, is the best way to go. In other words get all the systems if possible,how many times do I have to repeat myself. Anyway I've got to get back to Max payne another game hyped to the hilt ,but that has come through.
