Seriously how stupid can you be. At the very least give it an 18+ rating if your head is so far up your ass to think that people will be traumatized by this game. I don't understand why people from the 1910's are assigned to choosing age ratings for video games, which are played from people from the 1990's and up. You'd assume people from the 1990's should be judging those ages but sure, act stupid.

There is popular support for adding the 18+ category so that game classification will be consistent with film and tv, but to make the change they need unanimous support of all the state Attorney Generals. Unfortunately, Michael Atkinson, the AG of South Australia (which is a bit of a backwater anyway) has refused to play ball, which is why you'll occassionally hear him being lambasted in
Zero Punctuation. Basically, we're waiting for him to be caught up in some sort of chair-sniffing scandal and lose his job before anything happens.

Australia is always at the assend of censorship. Isn't their internet filtered/fucked now too? I heard something about Encyclopedia Dramatica being blocked over there

The government was proposing a filter that would block out child porn. It's being tested. It's failing miserably. It won't happen.
And as for the original article, I love this bit:

There is one bit of good news in all this, however: The Classification Board just wrote possibly the best review for L4D2 that Valve could ever hope for. Decapitations and limb dismemberment? Locational damage and spilling intestines? I am so there.
