Something else to think about is that young children are often inclined to play with themselves; the simple admission of this would be enough instead of the knee-jerk "STOP THAT!"- which typically either comes from a parent for the selfish sake of keeping the kid from embarassing
them, or to instill the fear of God in them.
"God gave you a wee wee for the sole purpose of perpetuating the species whose purpose is to worship him! It is not for your own personal pleasure!" So no wonder why so many are conditioned to be ashamed of themselves in light of their own natural and repressed urges.
