Chapter 2
Whilst I was collecting wood for the village I came across an encampment, consisting of small shelters made of leaves and wood. It was populated with Sligs most of whom had injuries or burns and had no weapons. I had asked them what happened and they said that they had been ambushed by native Mudarchers on Elum. I advised that they follow me to the Mudokon village although I had to assist some of them due to the injuries they had endured from their ambush. The Mudokon tribe I had met were from Paramonia and their ancestors were Mudomonian so they had just returned from a pilgrimage to the Mudomo Vaults. There were around 60 of them in the village and the surrounding guard posts their numbers decreased after the Mudomo Trials after they met an unexpected Slig patrol. Being of Mudomonion ancestry they were naturally sympathetic and welcomed them with open arms. They told me their story of how they had escaped SoulStorm Brewery after Abe had once Again shut down the brewery. I found talking to them easier than talking to the natives sometimes, as they were used to the industrialist lifestyle and understood what I meant. Their names were Yorek, Kerno, Meeks and Karkun. Over the coming weeks we became great friends. Yorek had just graduated from Slig Barracks and had a darker skin shade to the rest. Kerno went to Slaughter School and trained in the Slig Barracks. Meeks was a member of the Slig Air Corps but his Wings had been damaged during the ambush. Karkun was Kerno’s younger brother and had just recently graduated Slig Barracks with Yorek. A Slig if graduating from Slig Barracks gains the right to carry firearms and have a permit to be employed by Glukkon superiors. Whilst graduating from the more advanced Slaughter School will allow a Slig to have and be called his own name.
