Lovecraft was a miserable bastard and an appalling racist. Even at a time when what we consider to be racist was
casual conversation. He got looks for his insane anti-semitism and outright batshit-insanity.
I just don't get the popularity of Cthulhu. The stories themselves are wordy as fuck and not all that terrifying.
