Thinking originally means starting from the basics. You're probably joking, but if that's really your attitude then it's a very immature one.

Case in point: as an electronic technician and repairman, I have a very good understanding of how things work and how things are made. Now... knowing what I know I wonder, "How can anyone be buying all of this CRAP. Are they CRAZY?" It's a sobering realization how much of this stuff is being designed to only operate for a period which equates to not much longer than its warrantee. We're being sold a bill of goods guys. Do you really not care, only because it's new?

We're swept up in glitz and appearance; we're not asked to investigate or even understand the quality that lies beneath.

That's my take; go ahead and do as your told. We'll see what happens since we're not ready to do anything about it today.
