For me the most awe inspiring moments usually have to do with scenery. In KOTOR, when you get to that planet near the droid-builing factory, with all the crashed ships in the distance, Mass Effect when you get to that tropical planet where you have to make that choice, and Halo 3 when you first get on The Ark. Also, the scene where Forward Onto Dawn lands on the surface was awesome.
