Say MS1029 joined the same time as me. He made shitloads of posts. It is plausible that he could be now be more reputable than Joe.

Which is why the postcount rule is set to a number as large as 1000. He would have had to post a shitload for it to make any difference and we'd have banned him for spam well before that.
Also, if MS1029 had lasted here for the same length of time as you, I see no problem with him having more rep than Joe.
