I remember participating in that. I was pretty new to the internet, and I thought that actually it may have been an interesting idea. Now, I would sooner gouge out my eyes than participate in such a game.
I once spammed the Flat Earth Society forum. I pretended to believe at first, but then thought "bugger it", and it became a place for me to behave like an obnoxious kid. I still do it occasionally if bored.
