I haven't seen Lord of the Rings yet... I am going to soon, as the book very good, and it gets praised quite a bit(thought that doesn't make it a good movie)
Something that I found odd was that Peter Jackson directed it. It really doesn't seem like a film he would do, because he usually does low, low budget, demented horror/comedies. (Bad Taste, Dead Alive/Brain Dead, Meet the Feebles) He also did The Frighteners and Heavenly Creatures, two films that aren't as low budget, and more mainstream than the others... From low budget, very gory horror films to big budget action/fantasy...
Well, mostly every one here seems to like it...I hope I will too.
