It's a good flick, even if you're not into cars. John Carpenter also directed other classics such as all of the "Halloween" movies and "Vampires."

Yes they did. It was a mix of "Christine" and "The Car," a film released in the 70s about a evil black car (supposed to be the devil) which was based on what appears to be a Lincoln Mark IV. That movie is cheesy creepy fun but it's no Christine.
