If they kill that many people then why sell them?

Because it makes them money. They
know that some people are going to overuse them, but yet they still are allowed to sell them. More money for the companies, VAT added, many people die from smoking, less people, less worry about money.
The last one or two points there sound overly cynical, and I doubt very, very much that they're true, but I shall still keep them in mind. Some people are bloody evil, so you never know.
