I've known CGI films to go nearly a whole decade before production gets under way. You hear about a Pixar film one, maybe two years before it sees cinematic release. Finding Nemo pre-production began in 1997. Wall-E started way back in 1994! Now that you mention it, I distinctly remember a great many advertising campaigns preparing audiences for film releases up to 15 years later.

I did not know this, but it would seem you are right as usual. It would suck quite a bit if we have to wait another 10 years for this thing though
