Looks matters, but not as much as a lot of other things. Looks are there for initial attraction and the sexual side, but looks don't equal love.

Interstingly I recently did a similar subject in psychology. I found that I rated looks around 6th or 7th (cant remember) in a list of 13 characteristics, while most males I knew rated it 4th or 5th.
