I guess the main problem is I just don't "get it". Is it meant to be a parody of things like "America needs you" and "Be the best", or is this just a random collection of phrases and semi-witty comments?

Initially they were the former, but they have now developed into a popular way of showing your humourous comments on either a subject or picture.
EDIT: Oh, and sorry for snapping at ya earlier, AF. I should have been clearer the first time. And your pics are good, even if they aren't exactly what I meant.
