1. Yes it will. Life will adapt. Billions of years ago, oxygen was a poison. It was the waste product produced by the new microbes, and it was slowly killing the Earth. But then life adapted to use oxygen, and Evolution continued. It will be like that. The Earth will adapt to whatever conditions we leave it. I am not saying that it is a good thing that humans are going around killing everything, I'm just saying that the Earth is Foolproof. Even against such ingenious fools as humans...
2. Agreed. Depressing, isn't it?
3. Now this is a bit exaggerated, isn't it? The Sun will not become a Red Giant for sevral Billions of years, which is longer than most species can expect to survive naturally anyway. By the time the Sun kills everything, Humans will have been and gone, and Earth will have recovered, and then probably had to face another threat, and recovered from that as well...
