its IMPOSSIBLE at this point in technology to produce a software that could detect wether or not smoething is safe. there HAS TO BE a field test. sorry guys, but the only way to do it is animals. right now, my mom found out that we hav mice in our house. mice are dangerous because they hav the ability to care a wide veriety of deiseases and viruses to many other mice or people. wen it came to finding a way to get rid of the mice, i would have rather picked up the mice and set them down in a field miles away (joe the intern should know about things similar to wat im talkin about). but we couldnt, so we found a trap. since the trap was obviously safer on humans than mice, i took the liberty of turning the tables and putting the trap on my own hand. to my surprise and dismay, the trap DID NOT HURT. this meant that it would merely capture the mouse, and strangle it to death, rather than break its neck, giving it a much more humane death. well, i spoke with my mom about this n she said that she would rather rid the world of every last mouse than see me die from them. now my mom is ALWAYS the one whos looking for a harmless way out of things. she is a lot softer in the heart than me n still said this. this led me to think about animal testing on a personal level. sure, were all going around talking about how animal testing is wrong, but are any of us doing anything about it??? no, protesting just makes them close their facilities so that no one can get in...hense they feel more secretive n can perform much more lethal and riskier experiments on the animals. i mean, do any of you say "No, animal testing is wrong! Put me up on that table an inject me with a possible deadly chemical so that a lower species that reproduses more than eleven times as us, caries diseases, cannibalizes (yah, the DO!), and is nothing but a pestilance upon the Earth can live on and over populate this planet." No, no one sez that cuz theyre not nuts! we only care about our own affairs n not that of anyone or anything that isnt directly in front of us. do u know that in birundi, africa the majority of the people are between the ages of 1 and 4! the maximum life span is around 30 years old! they give every 15 year old a gun n wen he dies, his kids do the same. do any of us care about that? no! cuz our countries hav no reason to intervene! the news doesnt cover it cuz the country isnt valuable to the rest of the world! we all hav a thousand excuses as to why we arent over there protesting! now how is animal testing an issue so "inhumane" that it should be more important than the fact that HUNDREDS are killed each day in Birundi? BECAUSE WE ALL USE SHAMPOO, THERE ARE FACILITIES IN EASILY ACCESSIBLE AREAS OF YOUR COMMUNITY, ITS NOT DANGEROUS, N ITS A HELL OF A LOT MORE CONVINIENT! come on! dont waste simpathy on rats! use it on the women in afganistan who are raped, beaten, and left in the streets to not be attended to by medical attention simply because they are female! (damn the islamic factions!) and use it to weep for the children in China who are drowned to death immediately after birth because each family is only allowed two children. there are a lot more important causes worth fighting for in the name of all thats "humane". its these causes that oddworlds REALLY about.
