First you have to consider participants of such an experiment, imagine a advertisement in a student magazine asking for participants to come along to view sexual pictures of little girls, what kind of people are you liable to get in response to such an advert? Certainly not a representative sample of the student community. I know I wouldn't sign up for such an experiment regardless of the monetary or credit value earned. If the experiment used deception to lure in it's participants then the ethical flaws in such a study would be immense, what happens if you show a picture of a naked child to a fifty year old lecturer and he has a heart attack? Or if you have fundamentalist christian undergrads throwing up and claiming lawsuits left right and center? This is what I meant earlier when I said that such a study would just not pass.

Next just consider the methodology of such an experiment, the beastly thing doesn't even bear talking about. A study like that would be methodologically a mess, if you were using a within participants design you would be very wary of the participants who agreed to carry on after the first run 'Yes I want to look at more pictures of naked girls in the name of science' the kind of people who want to see more will jar your results horrifically, also keep in mind that ethical values between cultures vary a long way, it might be viewed as normal in some collectivist cultures to find twelve year old girls sexually attractive.

Standards nowdays, and in western cultures are far more stringent than standards anywhere else, think of Nazi Germany where the results of psychological experiments were manipulated by the government or the middle east where some research is just not allowed, needless to say that temporally standards have changed quite a lot too, not just ethically. Any study done like that would lack both internal and external validity and make it wide open to critical assailt.

It should be noted I was pretty drunk by the end of that post

OH FUCK A DOUBLE POST
