I remember back in the day, just before my GCSE exams all I would ever do was play this game (AoE I). Man did I know how to procrastinate  . But seriously I was hooked to this game; it somehow manages to take over your life. For some reason though I never played two and three or mythology (and probably for the best - otherwise I wouldn't see the light of day!). I'll check them out one day - probably not soon, but one day when I have more time again. |
Two is one with more resources and easier trade, as well as better graphics.
Three is two with an inbuilt Unfairness Factor and no stone. They also went down the all-too-familiar route of nerfing the shit out of defenses (walls and towers) so they're as crap as SC or C&C defenses. Seriously, there are cannons in AOE3 that will blow large sections of wall in one hit.
