I like transformations and stuff, it's an interesting subject, but I hate the ones where they don't realize it. The whole concept of losing yourself freaks me out so much.

I think that's maybe what scares me. If you take the Lockean view that identity is really defined by the memories and experiences you share with your younger self, then you're really not yourself any more. Even though it's your body (or something made from it), it's essentially something else inhabiting it. That's creepy.
