Which version? I took all movie for him to finally shed his human skin in the remake.

It was the remake. I haven't been fortunate (or, in my case, unfortunate) enough to see the original. Was it good? I can't really tell whether the movie was crap or not because I only managed to see the half-hour setup before I finally sought refuge in the comfort of my duvet.
