It showed that there was no scrab up there, it wasn't necessary, but it wasn't unnecessary.
I'm going to have to try these now. They just look too fun.
Shortcut (not really a glitch)
In abes exoddus(PC, untested on PS1) go to the mudachee temple.
Play through until you get to screen PVP10C03(there's a meat sack, a paramite and a hand stone thingy) ignore the meat.
On the next screen(PVP10C04(surprise surprise)) There will be a paramite and a ghost trap glowing with invisibility rings. Run(and roll) towards the paramite and jump when you get to the ledge at the end. Press up immediately. If done correctly, the paramite will jump at you, miss, and land to the right.
Drop down and slap the spirit trap to get rings without meat.
