That’s like looking at a small proportion of Earth’s faunal species and concluding that all creatures are vertebrates. Certainly all the larger Oddworld creatures seem to be supported by bones, but that’s generally a necessity for being large in the first place. There’s no evidence that Slurg‐ or bee‐scale critters are quite so boney.

Sorry! At the time I was typing, I was thinking of all of the more familiar species and completely forgot about all of the insects and Slurgs. In any case, I was just trying to say that if anything, many of the species on Oddworld are connected by their probable common ancestor of first vertebrate on their planet.
And sorry about assuming that octopuses are made of cartilage. I've just recently learned that their arms are muscular hydrostats and that the creatures themselves are made mainly of muscle. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.
