There are differences between uhm... materials... some reflect the light and some others don't -with light effects I was meaning nothing else than to not only use black to draw the shadows but also use something to light up some places that reflect the light

No, I know how light works. I'm just saying, the phrase "light effects" usually means some sort of idealized super-exaggerated anime effect that has nothing to do with reality. I mean, when was the last time you saw hair shimmer? In a shampoo commercial. It really doesn't tend to happen in real life.

But yes, some sort of light-based rendering would be quite nice.

And for the record, everything reflects light, save for anti-matter.
