Neutral Milk Hotel is beyond excellent. But that's the only band in that lineup I know. I thought they broke up after the first album?

Breaking up doesn't really come into it. Jeff Mangum
was Neutral Milk Hotel. He just had some other people playing with him occasionally. He had a bit of a nervous breakdown after the second album, "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea". He then joined a traveling circus. Seriously. He really did.
