Yes, I read that forum, a muslim play tester noticed it and did actually find it astonishingly offensive and warned Sony that it would be problematic.

It was one of the songs that play during game play that had it. Of course, the developers at Media Molecule could never have known, since it was in Arabic. Two quotes from the Qur'an: "Every soul shall have the taste of death" and "All that is on Earth will perish". While technically true, the imagery conjured by those lines is pretty ghastly, why you would put them in a song is beyond me.

Putting the Qur'an to music is considered offensive to muslims (made all the more peculiar by the fact that the artist himself is muslim) and simply those two lines in Arabic in a backing track as lead to this recall.

In response, a great deal of players plan on using the creative options in the game to flood the servers with levels with Qur'an extracts scribbled on every surface.

Incidentally the amount of ignorance surrounding the reporting of this story is astonishing. I've heard muslims speaking out against against the developers for putting it in as if they were deliberately including Islam in the game to ridicule it. Personally, I think it's time we showed them that they are not uniquely privileged to not be offended.
